It is mandatory to complete this course before progressing on to any of our other health and social care courses.
If you have a passion to work with people, are a good communicator, and want to make a difference in people’s lives, then working within adult care may be the career for you.
In this short four-week introduction, we will go through the basic requirements of working within adult care and the different job roles available i.e. care worker, health care worker, social worker. Your functional skills levels will be assessed to enable you to progress to the most suitable class for your needs and abilities. Full attendance on all four sessions is required.

You will complete an online assessment of your functional skills. Teachers will also assess your communication and written skills, through verbal and written assignments and tasks.
No previous experience required but ideally you will need a good level of communication in English.
Following the successful completion of this course, you will be supported to enrol on to the most suitable course for you.
Care Work Level 1 Award in Health and Social Care, Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care.
