Course overview
Do you enjoy working with children?

You will explore how to work in a school setting, supporting a teacher.
What will I study?
You will be introduced to:
- the role of a teaching assistant
- the characteristics of a good teaching assistant
- communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults.
- equality, diversity and inclusion
- safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
- how to assess a learner’s progress
Assessment method
Throughout the course, you will receive feedback from your tutor. You will be assessed using various assessment methods including:
- online and paper-based assessments
- role play
- individual and group work
You will also learn the skills to self-reflect and evaluate your own progress.
Entry requirements
Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, you should be able to understand, read and follow verbal instructions.
